The Organisation of the Cariverona Foundation

The organization of the Cariverona Foundation, regulated by its statute comprises:
The Board of Governors, The Board of Administration, The President, The Audit Committee and the Management team.

The Board of Governors

The Board of Governors is responsible for the activity of the Foundation. In particular, the orientation and definition of the guidelines and criteria of intervention of the Foundation.

The Board approves the balance sheet and nominates the Board of Administration, the President and the Audit Committee.The majority of the members of the Board of Governors is proposed by the institutions that best represent the local area and social interests in line with the institutional activity of the Foundation as set out in the Statute.

Some members, are, however, nominated directly by the Board of Governors on the basis of private or personal candidacy.

The members of the Board of Governors, in any case, do not represent the organisations that nominate them, but are the expression of the vocation to social responsibility and development of the fabric of society of the local area that these organisations uphold.

Board of Administration

The Board of Administration is responsible for the day to day running of the Foundation in accordance with the guidelines given by the Board of Governors.

President

The President presides over both the Board of Governors and the Board of Administration.

The President represents the Foundation, supervises the good running of the Foundation and guarantees the necessary interface between the two Boards, ensuring reciprocal dialogue and guaranteeing the activities of the organization.

Alessandro Mazzucco

President of the Board of Governors and the Board of Administration. He holds these positions since 20th February 2020.

He was born in Venice on 4th February 1944 and lives in Verona. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padova. His internship was in General Pathology. His specialisations are in Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He gained further experience at the Thoracic Unit, Hospital for Sick Children in London and at the Department of Cardiac Surgery, Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston. During the period 1970 to 1990, at the University of Padova, he held the positions of University Assistant of General Pathology, Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery, member of the Board of the Faculty, Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Division as well as the School of Specialisation in Cardiac Surgery. Since 1991, he has held the positions of Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery and Director of the Cardiovascular Division and School of Specialisation at the University of Verona. From 2003 to 2004 he was the Deputy Vice-Rector of the University of Verona and from 2004 to 2013 Rector of the University of Verona. His activity in the clinical field of Cardiovascular Surgery and scientific research has been intense and extensive, having organised numerous national and international conferences as well as being the author various publications. Since 2017 he is the President of the Education Committee of ACRI (Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio Spa – Association of Foundations and Savings Banks Ltd); From 2017 to 2020 he covered the role of Co-ordinator of the Fondazioni del Trivenento (The Foundations of the greater Veneto Area). He is the ex-President of the Cariverona Foundation, a role he covered from 2016 to 2020.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is the supervisory body that ensures compliance with the law and the Foundation’s statute.

It ensures the observance of the principles of correct administration and in particular on the suitability of the organisational, administrative and financial structures adopted by the Foundation.as well as their actual running.

General Manager

The Management of the Foundation is entrusted to a General Manager whose role is defined by the Statute. The General Manager is responsible for day to day running and the activities in pursuit of the objectives of the Foundation.

Filippo Manfredi

General Manager. In charge since the 1st of September 2021.

Filippo Manfredi, born in Verona in 1981, graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Trento, and then obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (CUOA and BBS in Sweden).

He developed relevant expertise in the finance, real estate and third sector domains. From 2016 to August 2021 he acted as General Manager of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto.
